The North Carolina Section of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the North Carolina Obstetrical & Gynecological Society (NCOGS) are now accepting applications for the 2027 NC OB/Gyn Policy Fellowship, an immersive leadership and advocacy program designed for early-career physicians interested in shaping women’s health policy.
The week-long fellowship provides participants with a behind-the-scenes introduction to the policies, politics, and relationships that influence healthcare decision-making at the General Assembly and within state government. Throughout the program, fellows will meet with legislators, legislative staff, state agency leaders, lobbyists, physician advocates, and leaders from nonprofit and healthcare organizations to gain firsthand insight into the policymaking process and develop practical advocacy skills.
As part of the fellowship, participants will also take part in the annual ACOG North Carolina/NCOGS Lobby Day (White Coat Wednesday) on Wednesday, March 10, 2027, joining physicians from across the state in meetings with lawmakers to advocate for policies that improve the health of North Carolina women and families.

Cohort Size: Up to five fellows
Program Dates: March 8–12, 2027

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
Participant Costs: Fellows will pay travel and meal expenses up front and will be reimbursed by ACOG North Carolina and NCOGS.
Eligibility: Open to ACOG Fellows, Junior Fellows, and medical students in North Carolina who have a strong interest in healthcare policy, legislative advocacy, and physician leadership.
Residents/Fellows in a training program will require a letter from their program director stating their availability to participate.
