GOPAC

Protecting Your Profession & Patients

GOPAC is the non-partisan political action committee of the North Carolina Obstetrical and Gynecological Society (NCOGS). Through voluntary contributions from NCOGS members, GOPAC supports candidates for public office who align with the Society’s positions on issues affecting the practice of obstetrics and gynecology in North Carolina.

GOPAC exists to ensure that the voices of OB-GYNs are heard in the policy and legislative decisions that directly impact patient care and the delivery of health services across the state.

Why GOPAC Matters

Public policy plays a critical role in shaping the environment in which physicians practice and patients receive care. Decisions made by elected officials influence access to obstetric and gynecologic services, patient safety, workforce sustainability, and reimbursement for physician services.

By supporting candidates who understand and value evidence-based medicine and the realities of OB-GYN practice, GOPAC helps protect:

  • Patient safety and quality of care
  • Access to comprehensive health services
  • A stable and sustainable OB-GYN workforce
  • Fair and appropriate payment for physician services

A Unified Voice for Better Health

GOPAC allows OB-GYNs to speak with a unified voice on issues that matter to our patients and our profession. Contributions help amplify the expertise of physicians who care for women and families every day, ensuring that policymakers hear directly from those with firsthand clinical experience.

Your Support Makes a Difference

GOPAC is funded entirely through voluntary contributions from NCOGS members. Every contribution—large or small—strengthens our ability to support candidates who are committed to policies that advance and protect the practice of obstetrics and gynecology in North Carolina.

Your support helps ensure that:

  • Physicians have a seat at the table when healthcare policy is debated
  • High-quality care for those seeking obstetric and gynecologic services across North Carolina
  • The future of our profession remains strong and sustainable
